Reflection 2009-2010

Hello, I'm Joan Sáez. I will talk about the most interesting activities of my blog I have done. It's the oral presentation. Not like as Christmas traditions or the recipe, I have found the oral presentation funny because it's very difficult to talk about something in front of a class. My partner was Sergi Torrabadella. We met two days before the oral presentation and we did all the work, but we couldn't learn all we had to talk about. So the day of the oral presentation we were so nervous. We tried to look at our audience and to use markers.
Finally, we found we did it quite well. If I was the teacher, I would put an eight or nine, because the Power-Point was well-designed and we pronounced quite well and we used rich vocabulary. In this year I have improved my vocabulary and listening. I found some activities boring, like "Learning about others experiences in the library" or Christmas activities.
In conclusion, I think my English has improved this year.

My childhood memories

I had been living in a farm, a big farm, with lots of fields and some hectares of wood until my nearly eight birthday. I remember me, alone, with no brothers, nobody who played with, and I had to hear my parents arguing. One day, my mum told me crying that my parents wouldn't live together anymore. I was too small to understand that fact. So my life completely changed. Then, my mum and me went to live in Avià, but three years later we bought a house in Berga. My mum found a boyfriend, but my father had been alone lots of years. He finally found a girlfriend who has a little child. To sum up, my childhood hasn't been very interesting, the most important facts for me have been the death of my dog and the divorce of my parents.

My favourite song

My favourite song is called In the end. It’s a song from the group Linkin Park. This group is from California. It was formed in 1996. It’s one of the most popular bands in all over the world. Linkin Park plays different types of music, like rap, rock or metal. In the end is not the most famous song of this group, although it has millions of visits. Lots of people know this song even though not loving Linkin Park. The song is about the personal failure. It is also based in the time, that it goes quickly and the life is short.

I love this song because I love rap and the instrumental is really good. When I listen to it, I feel motivated, I want to go out and do some things like riding my bike, not to waste my time. I usually listen to it on Saturday’s night when I’m chatting on my computer. I think it’s perfect; it hasn’t got any negative aspect in the lyrics. I wouldn’t change anything of it, but it could be longer than it is.

The videoclip is really good and it’s perfectly connected to the lyrics. In it, the group is in an strange dimension, where plants grow quickly and the world changes from a desert to a jungle.

In conclusion, In the end is a really good and motivating song, perfectly to listen to it when you go out to do sport!

Pork loin in breadcrumbs with chips

PORK LOIN IN BREADCRUMBS WITH CHIPS
LLOM ARREBOSSAT AMB PATATES
LOMO REBOZADO CON PATATAS

COOK TIME: 30 minutes
LEVEL: EASY
INGREDIENTS FOR 2 PEOPLE
- 1 egg
- 100g breadcrumbs
- 4 potatoes
- 4 piece pork loin
- Salt and oil
METHOD:
1.First beat an egg and put some salt on it.
2.Pour salt on the pork loin and put the pork loin with the egg and then put it in the breadcrumbs.
3.Then, put some oil in a frying pan and heat it.
4.While the frying pan is heating, peel and quarter the potatoes. Put another frying pan with oil and heat it.
5.After that, fry the roughcast pork loin, in a frying pan, and put the potatoes in the other frying pan.
6.When the pork loin and the potatoes are golden, put them in two dishes.
7.Serve it and eat them. Mmmmmmmmh………….Delicious!!!

PREDICTIONS

Hello, I’m Joan. I imagine me in 20 years. I’ll be tall, strong and really fast. I’ll have my hair cut and I’ll have a little beard. I won’t be fat. I’ll wear glasses.

My future home will be a small flat in Barcelona. My friends will be my neighbours. I won’t have any grandparents, only my dad and mum living far from me.

I’ll study computer science, and in 20 years, I’ll be a hacker and expert in computers. I’ll work in a small company. Although, I’ll earn a lot of money. I’ll maybe buy a car and a new house. The company won’t need my help every day, so I’ll sleep a lot.

I‘ll have a lot of free time, so I’ll practise tennis, downhill, BMX and skate every week. Of course, I won’t smoke.

CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS

Scary story

It was a dark, and stormy night when I arrived at home. There was nobody there. I was alone. My parents were at one of their friend's house. I went to my bedroom and I started playing on PS3. One hour later, I was hungry. It was twelve o'clock. I ate something and then I went to watch TV. I was doing zapping when I found a scary film. It was called "Killers". It was really scary and I was afraid. In that film, a monster knocked the door of a house. A man opened the door and the monster killed him. Suddenly, somebody or something knocked at my house's door. I screamed. Five minutes later, I opened the door with a stick in one hand. It was my mum.

Personal information, daily life and hobbies

English Composition

My name is Joan. I'm thirteen years old. I live in Berga. It's a small city in the mountains.
In my free time I usually meet my friends, I play with my computer or I ride my bike, but now I can't because I fell in a downhill Bike Park. I love riding in special Bike Parks. With my bike I love to do downhill, jumping, do downtown or doing Dirt Jump. I also love listening to music with my computer or with my MP4, especially Spanish Rap or Hip Hop.
I'm in 3rd of ESO and I've always a lot of homework. I live with my mother, but some weekends I stay in my father's house. It's a big farm with some fields and a little of wood.
I love listening to music, riding my bike, meeting my friends, etc. I hate tidying my room and eating salads.
